Enter Emergency or Decision-Making Leave for Possible Involuntary Separation

Action

1. 

Select the Manager Self-Service link.

 

The Manager Self-Service menu items display.

2. 

Select the Manager Timesheet link.

 

A list of your direct reports and any indirect reports displays.

3. 

Enter the date on which leave will be used into the Transaction Effective field, or, select the Calendar icon next to the field.

4. 

Search and select the date on which leave will be entered.

  

The Transaction Effective Date field will populate with your chosen date. 

5. 

Select the employee for who leave will be entered.

  

The employee's timesheet will display.

6. 

In the Time Reporting Code (TRC) field, enter the code for the type of leave to be used. Or select the Magnifying Glass icon to search and select the code.

  

A list of TRCs displays.

7. 

Select the Time Reporting Code that the HR Specialist has advised you to use.

  

The value you select populates the TRC field.

8. 

Enter the amount of leave granted on 10/24/2013.

9. 

You may enter or not enter a comment into the Comments field. Ask your HR Specialist for guidance.

 

Your comments must always be accurate and objective. Involuntary separation may be formally grieved by an employee and the timesheet is often used in the grievance process.

10. 

Select the E-Sign & Approve button.

 

The Save Confirmation page displays.

11. 

Select the OK button.

 

The timesheet displays.

12. 

If the purpose of the leave is to facilitate workplace safety or an investigation, you may be directed to enter leave for multiple days. Up to 30 days or "emergency leave" may be granted.

 

After 30 days, the employee's leave or Leave Without Pay must be used. End.
